Christmas Penguin

Chilly temperatures
Hurdling along
Right on
Into the
Season
Though it seems
Mighty soon for
All this wind and
Snapping photos of
Penguins lit up to
Engage smiles and
Neatly capture hearts; sitting in the
Grass among bushes
Under colorful bulbs
In the twinkling
Night

  1. So cute! Love penguins!

This poem is fantastic too. Very well done. :D I wish I could write like that!

  2. Thank you! Penguins are one my favorites, too. I made a small change near the end, 'cause I wasn't sure if I liked the lines about entertaining passersbys and neighbors. If you caught that, see what you think of the new changes about engaging smiles and capturing hearts. Feel free to let me know which one you liked better.

I think you write beautifully. This is called an acrostic poem, one of my favorite forms to play with. Fairly easy in its form, but sometimes tricky to come up with words that fit the letters at the beginning.
